The decision of the Interdepartmental Monitoring Council on the implementation of restrictive measures was published today in the Official Monitor. In its decision, the Interdepartmental Monitoring Council ordered the freezing of funds and economic resources belonging to, owned by, or directly or indirectly controlled by a number of individuals and organizations subject to restrictions. It is prohibited to provide funds and economic resources to entities subject to restrictions, as well as to use funds and economic resources in their interests, writes moldpres.md. The State Tax Service shall, on its own initiative, take the necessary steps to identify funds and economic resources belonging to entities subject to restrictions and shall issue decisions on freezing them within two working days of their identification. At the end of October 2025, the US Treasury Department announced sanctions against two major Russian oil companies “to reduce Moscow’s ability to finance military operations in Ukraine”. Shortly after the announcement, Chisinau stated that it was analyzing the consequences of the sanctions and their potential impact on the petroleum products market in the Republic of Moldova.
