Minister of Defense of the Republic of Moldova Eugeniu Sturza called Russian peacekeepers military maneuvers on the Dniester a provocative act. Defense Minister of Moldova Eugeniu Sturza made a comment on Russian peacekeepers military maneuvers on the Dniester. He believes that military maneuvers in the security zone are a provocative act, RIA Novosti reports. “Such military maneuvers in the security zone are provocative acts that violate the security regime and justify the presence of the Russian contingent as a peacekeeping mission”, Sturza wrote on his Facebook page. According to him, “threatening does not help friendship”. Earlier Bureau for Reintegration reported that armored vehicles such as BTR 70, military vehicles without registration numbers and identification signs were seen on the left bank of the Dniester River on August 14. This is due to the fact that there were military maneuvers to force a crossing over Dniester with peacekeepers participation, said the delegation of Moldova to the Joint Control Commission. Chisinau considers these maneuvers unlawful, since the Joint Military Command did not permit it. Source: Sputnik Moldova
