Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly intends to raise the issue of sending peacekeepers to the Donbas. “A real progress should be demonstrated in the settlement, the main point of which is to coordinate the parameters of the deployment of the peacekeeping mission under the auspices of the United Nations. I will talk about this next week during my visit to New York”, said Poroshenko delivering an annual message to the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday, September 20. Peacekeepers should be deployed throughout the entire armed conflict in the Donbas, including on the border with Russia, stressed the president. According to him, this will provide conditions for the implementation of the Minsk agreements, including the withdrawal of Russian troops from the occupied Ukrainian territory, which is necessary to introduce a special order of local self-government in the Donbas.
