Moldova and Ukraine will develop cooperation in the field of European integration and promoting the reform agenda. Plan of interministerial political consultations provides this for 2018-2019. It was signed on Wednesday in Kyiv by the foreign ministers of the two countries Tudor Ulianovschiand PavloKlimkin, reports infotag.md, citing Ukrainian media. After the meeting Ulianovschi said that Moldova and Ukraine are “European countries that are working together on common European perspectives” and expressed hope that the dialogue on this topic would continue on October 15 in Luxembourg at the Eastern Partnership ministerial meeting. He informed that during the talks the parties exchanged opinions on security issues faced by Ukraine and Moldova. “In this context, I reaffirm the principled position of the Republic of Moldova, which firmly supports the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities aimed at renewing the territorial integrity of the country and constitutional control over the eastern region and the Crimean peninsula”, stressedUlianovschi. He confirmed his interest in expanding joint control of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, as well as opening the movement of passenger road transport on the Unguri-BronnitsyBridge and in building a new bridge across the Dniester near Kosauti and Yampol. PavloKlimkin noted that the two countries had a “common past, common challenges in the sense of protecting territorial integrity and sovereignty and a common European future”. At the same time, he called the Russian ammunition depot in the village of Kolbasna in Transnistria “a fundamental threat to safety and the environment for both Moldova and Ukraine, which are suffering from Russian aggression and from the Russian presence”. “We consistently work on all international platforms, and also in the context of the liberation of Transnistria from the Russian presence. There are first, albeit very weak, positive changes in the sense that now the vehicles from Transnistriamay have established license plates. Unfortunately, this does not mean that the provocations that we have from the territory of Transnistria will stop, because, including from the territory of Transnistria, Russia is trying to destabilize Ukraine”, Klimkin said.
