Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened to bring to the referendum the issue of the country’s accession to the European Union. He accused the EU authorities once again of deliberately delaying the process of accepting Turkey, although it fulfilled all the conditions. Erdogan called on Brussels to give Turkey a definite answer so that it could decide on its future policy. “If you don’t accept us, say so, and go your own way, and we will go ours”, he said at the forum in Istanbul. Otherwise, Erdogan allowed that the solution of this issue would be provided to the population of Turkey. “They are still haggling. Countries that you cannot even compare with us have become EU members. Following this logic we will address our 81 million (population) regarding the EU membership and we’ll see what they say”, the president said. Source: Rosbalt
