PA NATO Called for a clear membership perspective for Ukraine, the Republics of Moldova, Georgia in NATO and the EU

The accession of Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and the Balkan countries to the European Union and NATO should be based solely on the fulfillment of membership criteria, says the report of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly “Countering Russia’s hybrid threats: an update”. In the NATO Parliamentary Assembly called for giving Ukraine the prospect of membership in the Alliance and in the European Union, says  NATO Parliamentary Assembly special report “Countering Russia’s hybrid threats: an update”, published on the NATO site on November, 19. “To limit the space for Russian hybrid warfare, the problem of “grey zones” in eastern Europe must be addressed. Leaving eastern European countries in limbo is an invitation for further Russian aggression and tensions with the West. Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova, as well as the Western Balkan countries, should be given a clear membership perspective both in NATO and the EU.
