The sovereignty of Belarus during the three-day talks with Vladimir Putin in Sochi was not even discussed, told reporters President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. “We proceed from the fact that today there are two states”, said Lukashenko, adding that Putin and him were not the initiators of the collapse of the USSR. At the same time, Lukashenko said that “sovereignty” is “sacred” for him, “independence” is “relative term”. He added that he was ready to go along the path of unity with Russia as much as the citizens of the two countries are ready for. Putin said that there are no “fully independent states” in the world for the moment.   According to Putin, the presidents agreed to analyze all aspects of the Alliance Treaty between Russia and Belarus. Putin said that all the goals of the meeting with Lukashenko were achieved. Source: svoboda
