The President of Moldova, Igor Dodon promised to all the people from Transnistria to issue Moldovan passports. According to the head of state, the left-Bank region, which has been uncontrolled by Chisinau for almost 30 years, is a part of Moldova and the authorities are obliged to take care of their citizens. “These are our residents, our citizens. There are more than 240 thousand citizens with the right to vote, but I believe that they are all citizens of Moldova. We need to resolve the issue of passports as quickly as possible. This part is cut off. Everyone should has a Moldovan passport and take advantage of the benefits that it provides”, Dodon said. According to him, this is an essential condition for the reintegration of the country and the final resolution of the Transnistrian conflict with the determination of the status of the region within the generally accepted international borders, eadaily.com  reports. Special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the development of trade and economic relations with Moldova Dmitry Kozak within the visit to Moldova also paid a visit to Transnistria. Meeting with the head of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky, he promised to resolve the issue of simplified granting of Russian citizenship to Transnistrian people. Chisinau said that Transnistria and Moldova should settle their relations without the participation of international mediators. At the same time, they discussed he so-called Kozak Plan of 2003, which assumed the unification of the country within the asymmetric federation. The first head of Transnistria Igor Smirnov agreed with him, but the then President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin at the last moment refused to sign the plan, considering that the subjects of Moldova (Transnistria and Gagauzia) will have an advantage over the center. Igor Dodon believes that until an agreement is reached, the parties should take steps towards each other. “There should be neither Kozak Plan-2, 3, 4, nor Russian or Western plan. We have to solve the Transnistrian problem ourselves. To come to an agreement and offer it to our partners. Until we agree in Chisinau and Tiraspol, there is nothing to talk about. Because any American or European draft agreement will be received very carefully by the Russians. Any Russian draft agreement will also be poorly received by the West”, concluded Igor Dodon. It was reported earlier that the head of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky through the media demanded Igor Dodon to publicly answer a number of questions concerning the relationship of Moldova and the Transnistrian region. In particular, Tiraspol expects the Moldovan President to assess the military aggression of 1992, the actions of the Moldovan Parliament, which pushed Transnistria to the Declaration of independence and the national referendum, where more than 97% of Transnistrian population supported the policy of independence from Moldova with subsequent free accession to Russia. Vadim Krasnoselsky called the answers to his questions, which the Moldovan leader has not yet given, a condition for the resumption of the negotiation process. Point
