Bank accounts of state-owned companies have been drained in recent days, and great sum of money are being sent to offshore, said Minister of Economy in the Maia Sandu’s government Vadim Brynzan, TV8.md reports. “We have information that in recent days there have been significant withdrawals from the bank accounts of state-owned companies, in cash or transfers to offshore accounts. This is suspicious and extremely worrying”, the Minister said. Vadim Brynzan claims that a substantive audit of all such bank transactions will be conducted, and if it is proved that state property has been embezzled, all the perpetrators will be held liable in accordance with the law. The Minister addressed to officials in the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance and Directors of state-owned companies, urging them to refrain from making queer transactions. He called on them to show courage, not to sign documents and not to participate in illegal actions of the former government. The new Minister of Economy also warned foreign partners (the European Union, the United States of America, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank) on the illegal capital export from the Republic of Moldova.
