The American leader commented on the firing of his national security adviser.
U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he fired John Bolton because his national security adviser “made some very big mistakes” and he wasn’t getting along with people in the White House administration.
According to Trump, Bolton did not get along with people in the administration and “made some very big mistakes.”
“He’s somebody that I actually had a very good relationship with, but he wasn’t getting along with people in the administration who I consider very important.” the U.S. president emphasized.
Trump was referring to a remark by Bolton nearly a year and a half ago, describing Libya as a model for the denuclearization of North Korea.
Trump also pointed to disagreements with Bolton on the approach to the situation in Venezuela.
“I did not agree with John Bolton regarding his position on Venezuela. I think that he took an unacceptable position, and I believe that I was right,”said the American leader.
He specified that he was considering five candidates for the post of new national security adviser.
