Ukraine will offer Russia to conclude a new gas transit agreement for a period of 10 years, said Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection Oleksiy Orzhel. The proposal will be presented tomorrow at the tripartite consultations on gas planned in Brussels (Russia — EU — Ukraine). “We fully support this position - 60 billion plus 30 billion for 10 years. We will adhere to this position in the negotiations,” said the Ukrainian Minister (quote from TASS). Earlier, such a variant of the contract was announced by President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič. Thus, according to the new contract, the minimum volume of deliveries is 60 billion cubic meters of gas per year. At the same time, it is possible to increase annual deliveries to 90 billion cubic meters. The next round of consultations on the future transit of Russian gas through Ukraine will be held tomorrow, September 19. The Russian delegation will be led by Minister of Energy Alexander Novak, the Ukrainian - by his colleague Oleksiy Orzhel. The heads of Gazprom and Naftogaz will also be present.
