President Alexander Lukashenko has decided to sign the visa facilitation and readmission agreements with the European Union, said the press secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anatoly Glaz.
Glaz noted that it was not easy for Minsk to take such a step. The president of Belarus had made it, realizing a high importance of mobility for Belarusian citizens, and only after a thorough assessment of all possible risks and consequences,” Glaz said.
Since 2014, Minsk and the European Union have been holding consultations on these issues. Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus reported that consultations on the second draft of the document have been completed.
At the same time, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei noted the need for a comprehensive signing of both documents.
