The Republic of Moldova is in the process of discussing with Ukraine the possibility of buying a part of the space in natural gas storage tanks, stated Prime Minister Maia Sandu on Jurnal TV, unimedia.info reports.
Maya Sandu explained why Moldova cannot import gas only from Ukraine and buys it from the Russian Federation:
“Ukraine has no natural gas for supplying us but it has gas storage, it buys natural gas and stores it. Ukraine cannot provide enough to ensure the energy security of the whole Moldova, so we also need alternative sources,” said Sandu.
“We are now discussing with Ukraine the opportunity to sell us a space in the tanks so that we could also buy and store gas,” the Prime Minister said.
