The head of the presidential faction in the Verkhovna Radanoted that the costs connected with Donbass reintegration are tens of billions. Ukraine needs a realistic plan for negotiations with partners, he added Head of the “Servant of the people” faction in the Verkhovna Rada David Arakhamia said in an interview with the Left Bank that Ukraine had no money to restore Donbass. “Even if Normandy happens, they will not tell us one day: “That's it, take Donbass.”The negotiation process will be long. We understand that we don’t have money to restore Donbass,” said Arakhamia. He also added that negotiations with partners on financing Donbass are not possible without a realistic plan. According to the parliamentarian, the costs connected with the reintegration of the region, they amount to a hell of tens of billions. Earlier President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that over 300 billion UAH would be needed to restore Donbass. At the same time, he noted that Kyiv will not wait for the end of the war, but will begin to work in the controlled territories. The head of state also said that he was negotiating with foreign investors about investments in Donbass infrastructure. In early October, it became known that all representatives of the Trilateral Contact Group signed the Steinmeier formula, according to which local elections will be held in the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass. Moreover, the law on Donetsk and Lugansk’s special status will be applied on a temporary basis before the vote, but after the elections and if they will be recognized by the OSCE it will finally gain legal force.
