Moldovan President Igor Dodon at a briefing on Tuesday suggested that the PSRM and the ACUM bloc together choose a new candidate for the post of prime minister. “We are witnessing a political crisis, and urgent measures must be taken so that it does not become socio-economic. I believe it is vital that the current parliamentary majority go further together and propose a new candidate for the prime minister, whom I will approve immediately,” said Dodon, ria.ru reports. The president invited the factions on Wednesday, November 13, to come for consultations to discuss a way out of the crisis. He does not exclude that the new candidacy may be approved by parliament at the beginning of next week. According to him, PSRM has not yet discussed possible candidates and is awaiting proposals from the ACUM bloc, but Sandu will not be able to become prime minister again. “If ACUM bloc MPs do not want to avoid early elections, then I will take responsibility and propose a politically independent candidate for the prime minister who can professionally manage the country,” said Dodon. According to him, the resignation of the government was provoked by Sandu, “in order to divert attention from the failed socio-economic policy.” Point
