The USA State Department urges the American citizens to immediately leave the territory of Iraq due to an increasing tension inside the country. “Due to heightened tensions in Iraq and the region, we urge U.S. citizens to depart Iraq immediately,” – states the official message of the Travel-State Dept’s Twitter account, ria.ru informs. The American Embassy in Iraq says “ U.S. citizens should depart via airline while possible, and failing that, to other countries via land.” The statement was made a few hours after the Pentagon confirmed it has executed an operation against Qasem Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force. The Shiitic militia informed that in the Bagdad operation five militia members and its two “guests” have died. Among them was the militia deputy commander Abu Mahdi al Muhandis accused by the State Secretary Mike Pompeo of attacking the U.S. Embassy in Bagdad on December, 31. The Iran Government has also confirmed the Soleimani’s death. The Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei promised to revenge the death. ria.ru
