The International Monetary Fund is ready to temporarily stop financing Moldova, if the republic does not abandon the idea of obtaining a loan from the Russian Federation for infrastructure development, said Mikhail Poisic, Doctor of Economics. Earlier, Moldovan Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that Chisinau could take a break in relations with the International Monetary Fund, if the latter is against investment in infrastructure development. At the same time, Moldova agreed on a loan with the Russian Federation in order to build roads in the country. “The program can be stopped not on the initiative of Moldova, but on the initiative of the IMF. The fate of Moldova is not so important for the West, of course, Europeans do not need a point of instability, but for the Americans we are an expense pawn. Moldova gets a loan to develop the infrastructure, because there is a budget deficit in the country, the IMF does not give such a loan, so we take money from Russia and afterwards we hearwe can be left without financing, "Poisic told to RIA Novosti. According to him, the IMF is decisively against rapprochement of the post-Soviet countries with Russia, this has already been achieved with respect to Ukraine and Georgia, and partially with Azerbaijan. “Today we have $ 3 billion in reserve, which is about twice as much as is required by the norms of maintaining the stability of imports. We give this money to the Americans for storage, and at the same time we take a loan from them at a higher percentage, and who benefits from this? Definitely not us! Therefore, the IMF does not allow the situation that the Russian Federation lends to Moldova at the expense of the Russian ruble, "explains Poisic. The expert is sure that right now no one will stop funding and the negotiations will begin in March, when a new program with the fund will be negotiated. The IMF may not agree to the transformations that the Moldovan government intended. "Moldova needs to develop the country's economy, first of all, it is necessary to solve infrastructure problems. In addition, we have a big imbalance in the social sphere. This can be solved if we step over the agreements reached by the previous government with the IMF, Moldova is ready to do this." - emphasizes Poisic.
