During his visit to Brussels, the Romanian Prime Minister Ludovic Orban expressed his support for the strict and conditional approach of the EU, allowing the continuation of internal reforms, especially in the field of justice, in the interests of citizens of the Republic of Moldova. He also told Europeans that the current government of the Republic of Moldova, headed by Ion Chicu, cannot be considered a “serious partner”, zdg.md reports. “I sent a well-known message after the Dodon party, PSRM submitted the vote of no confidence which led to the fall of the Maya Sandu government and to the subsequent formation of the PSRM Government, without a single clearly pro-European political force that would have our and only our support and provide us European rate guarantee for the Republic of Moldova. Thus, everything that happened in the Republic of Moldova is an involution that causes our concern, so from our point of view, we cannot consider the current Government a serious partner,” said the Romanian Prime Minister, answering journalists' questions about whether had he discussed the situation in the Republic of Moldova with European officials. Ludovic Orban also added that he informed both the Commissioner for Enlargement and other European officials that it is necessary to pay utmost attention to everything that happens in the Republic of Moldova, and, practically in case the obligations that were taken regarding the European direction are not respected than the "European Union and the European Commission will respond accordingly." Earlier, after the fall of the Sandu Government, the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis also emphasized that the request of socialists for Government resignation was directed against the long-term interests of the Republic of Moldova. The head of the Romanian state also noted that over five months of activity, the executive body, headed by Maya Sandu, has made significant progress in implementing reforms.
