Center-right parties must prepare for possible parliamentary elections since the current legislature does not represent the will of citizens. This statement was made by the chairman of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Maia Sandu. According to her, President Igor Dodon and the government will sooner or later leave, and the right-wing groups should always be ready for this, ipn.md reports. “We know how the elections in February 2019 were held, this must be improved, and we will look for the methods to initiate these elections. We must be ready for this. We are looking for the ways to initiate early parliamentary elections,” the PAS leader stated during the Puterea a patra program on N4 TV channel. Maia Sandu also noted that during the next presidential elections to be held this year the formation intends to enter the game with a candidate who will defeat Igor Dodon. “We are ready to discuss all options, but the arguments should be very clear and plausible,” the politician told referring to the proposal of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party to nominate a single non-party candidate in the next presidential elections. In addition, Maia Sandu affirms that nominating a candidate should not lead to the rejection of membership in the party. “At the moment, I consider such discussions abstract. If very clear arguments appear about who can turn the situation overnight, become famous, and be able to gain support of people, we will discuss them. In the coming months we will see who and how much support has and, accordingly, what prospects at these elections are,” the politician added.   At the same time, Maia Sandu states that if no other solution is found, Andrei Nastase and she can run for the next presidential election, and citizens will choose a person to fight with Igor Dodon in the second round of elections. “The problem is not in me, but in the country. We must win this election and get rid of Igor Dodon not for my political career – because there are no problems in it– but for the country, because Igor Dodon has proved that he wants to defend the mafia clans, this is what he is doing, and it’s harmful to the country. Igor Dodon proved that he can isolate the country in less than two weeks,” the PAS chair said. On Tuesday, January 14, the Dignity and Truth Platform Party called on the democratic political forces to find a single non-party candidate for the 2020 presidential election.
