US President Donald Trump instructed Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan to do everything possible to improve relations between Moscow and Washington. This stated the diplomat in an interview with RBC. According to Sullivan, he intends to continue the course taken by his predecessor John Huntsman. “I hope to continue the wonderful work that he has done, I am glad about this opportunity. Shortly before he left his post, and aven after that we discussed several times with him the ways of constructive interaction between the United States and the Russian government,” the ambassador said. The ambassador also noted that at the moment the relations between the two countries are at the lowest point since the end of the Cold War. The Senate approved John Sullivan as U.S. ambassador to Russia in December 2019. He handed credentials to President Vladimir Putin on February 5.
