The EU is surprised that bills not meeting WTO obligations and the Free Trade Area Agreement (DCFTA) are being returned to the parliamentary agenda, in particular, amendments to the law on domestic trade. This stated the head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Peter Michalko on Thursday during the meeting of the EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform. He recalled that the European Union is the most important trade partner of Moldova, and "80% of investments come to Moldova from the EU," infotag.md reports “It is very important that the reforms related to the development of the free trade area continue further and improve the business climate. We need to understand where do challenges for our relationship come from, whether they are political, administrative or social in nature. We have an ambitious agenda and we expect concrete actions and tangible results in cooperation with the Republic of Moldova, "the diplomat said. Earlier, President Igor Dodon said that "the government has returned to the parliament for consideration the law on domestic trade." Back in November it was recalled by the Cabinet led by Maia Sandu. According to Dodon, this was done "in the interests of foreign corporations," since the law "presumes that 50% of the goods on store shelves should be of domestic production."
