The Party of Action and Solidarity declares that in the future it intends a better members’ selection for the party, those to work stronger for the good of the party. A statement by the chairman of the PDS, Maia Sandu, was made in the context of the fact that the independent candidate, Grigore Cobzac, while still a member of the political formation, allegedly lied to the PDS that he would not stand for election in the Hincesti district, ipn.md reports “We made efforts to support Olesea Stamate as a candidate, and Mr. Cobzac, whom we supported in the previous elections, decided to lie to us. Before Olesea Stamate agreed to become a candidate from the PDS, Mr. Cobzac assured us that he would not run,” Maia Sandu said in the Cutia Neagră (Black Box) program studio on TV8. Moreover, Maia Sandu claims that after talking with Grigore Cobzac over the past few weeks, she realized that he is playing a game in the interests of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova. According to the chairman of the PDS, the right political flank did not nominate a single candidate due to the fact that both the Platform “Dignity and Truth” party and Grigore Cobzac refused to conduct a poll to identify the candidate with the greatest chances. Regarding the presidential election, Maia Sandu claims that the PDS, the DAA, the PLDM and the Unirea platform have discussed the nomination of a single candidate outside politics, but shortly after these meetings the DAA has nominated its own political candidate. The chairman of the PDS notes that there is no need to panic if a consensus on a single candidate for the right-wing forces is not found in the autumn presidential election, and calls on the political class to conduct a civilized election campaign.
