The Party of Action and Solidarity considers it necessary to conduct mass testing of citizens to combat the spread of the virus. Its chairman, Maia Sandu, noted at a press conference on Wednesday that “it is necessary to resort to three important measures in order to get out of this massive crisis with minimal losses,” infotag.md reports. "The first is to establish norms of social distance and quarantine, the second is to conduct mass testing of citizens, the third is to ensure the protection of medical personnel. With regards to the first point, the authorities took certain measures, but as for the second and third - the situation is embarrassing," Sandu said. According to her, "for several weeks, the authorities have been trying to convince that they have enough tests and that they plan to purchase hundreds of thousands more." “But in reality, only a few hundred people passed the test. Why does this happen if the tests are plentiful, as the authorities say? If we don’t conduct testing of citizens, we won’t be able to determine the exact number of cases, isolate them, and the virus will continue to spread at a high rate,” Sandu believes.
