Moldovan Health Ministry Explains How Quickly Coronavirus Can Spread

“Some people infected with a new type of coronavirus do not know about this. When going outside, they infect at least three people during the week, which in turn can infect nine more, and this is another 27 people. Thus, the virus spreads very quickly.” This was stated by health authorities during the National Information Campaign, ipn.md reports. The campaign was launched by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection in partnership with the World Health Organization. Experts warn that when people stay at home, keep social distance of one meter, work from home, don’t visit each other, go to parks or visit their parents, the number of infected people decreases, pressure on doctors decreases, and relatives are protected. Since March 17, a state of emergency has been declared in the Republic of Moldova. So far, 864 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection and 17 deaths associated with COVID-19 have been reported. The Commission for Emergency Situations decided to declare the period from April 7 to 17 non-working days for public sector employees. The decision is applied to all departments of the public sector and government bodies.
