President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has signed an agreement on visa facilitation with the European Union and readmission. Now the document should be approved by the European Parliament. If the document is ratified, then the agreement may come into force already this year. According to the simplified visa regime, a Schengen visa for Belarusians will cost 35 euros. This amount does not include the services of visa centers, but they should not be more expensive than 30 euros, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry notes. Earlier, a visa cost citizens of Belarus 60 euros, and since the beginning of the year - 80. Simplifying the regime will allow obtaining multiple visas with a longer validity period. For Europeans coming to Belarus, the length of stay in the country will increase from 90 days to 180. The agreement between Minsk and Brussels does not apply for issuing study or work visas. Readmission between the EU and Belarus provides for the return to the country of their own citizens, third-country nationals and stateless persons who have lost the legal status of stay in the territories of the countries of the agreement.
