The head of WHO, Tedros Adhan Herbreyesus, warned that coronavirus remains deadly while people remain vulnerable to it. In light of the SARS-CoV-2 infections worldwide increasing number and the growing rejection of measures to combat it, such as curfews and restrictions on social contacts, the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the world is at the threshold of the "new and dangerous" phase of the pandemic. In this regard, the head of WHO Tedros Adhan Ghebreyesus on Friday, June 19, urged citizens and state authorities to continue to remain vigilant. According to Gebreyesus, one should take with understanding the unwillingness of people to stay at home and the desire of states to restart their economies. "However, the virus is still deadly, and people are vulnerable," the head of WHO added. According to the Worldometers website, almost 130 thousand new cases of infection were recorded in the world from June 18 to 19. On June 19, Italian authorities started talking about “alarm signals” in connection with an increase in the number of coronavirus infections in some regions of the country. In particular, a new coronavirus infection outbreak was recorded in Rome. In general, the situation in Italy remains positive, however, a significant spread of the virus is still observed in the country, according to the Higher Institute of Health (Istituto Superiore di Sanità, ISS).
