Russia ranks third in the number of cases in the world - more than 634 thousand people. 9073 patients have died since the beginning of the epidemic. Over the past day, coronavirus was detected in 6791 people. 104 patients died. Russian authorities include in the statistics of deaths not all deaths for whom the virus was detected, but only those for whom the infection was recognized as the main cause of death. The federal headquarters statistics often do not coincide with the regional ones, and the headquarters data on mortality can be several times lower than those of the Federal State Statistics Service and the regions. As officials explain, this is due to different calculation methods.
