The package of bills for which the government has taken responsibility includes receiving EU financial assistance. And if the Cabinet cannot present it to the deputies, Moldova will lose this money. Prime Minister Ion Chicu announced this on July 6 and blamed Maia Sandu, leader of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS). “The amendments to the budget include hundreds of millions of Euros of macro-financial assistance from the EU. The fact that Sandu blocks the receipt of financial assistance from the EU, just as she blocked a loan from Russia, says one thing - she does everything possible to block the country's financing. I see that she doesn’t care where the money comes from, the main thing is to do the way she wants. I note that if this amendment to the budget fails, Moldova will not be able to get this money,” Chicu said and added that he was counting on the “responsibility” of the deputies. The head of government also accused the parliament of blocking the work of the government and said that it must be dissolved. “They are responsible for the crisis in the country. I hope that today they will think about people and let the government work. But the current parliament has completely discredited itself and must be dissolved, using all legal possibilities. We will see what happens next and, depending on the behavior of these politicians, we will decide what to do next,” Chicu emphasized. Recall that the Prime Minister should come to the parliament for the third time today in order to take responsibility for four bills. His two previous attempts to address the deputies failed. People’s representatives of the factions “Action and Solidarity” (PAS), “Dignity and Truth Platform” (DA), “Shor” and the Pro Moldova parliamentary group boycotted the parliamentary sittings on July 2 and 3. This resulted in the lack of quorum.
