US Ambassador Expresses Interest in Amending Election Code

US Ambassador to Moldova Dereck Hogan expressed interest in amending the Election Code. During the online meeting, the chairman, vice-chairman and secretary of the electoral body discussed with the US ambassador the issues that are on the agenda of the Central Election Commission related to the preparations for the presidential elections scheduled for November 1, 2020, moldpres.md reports. The US ambassador expressed particular interest in amending the Election Code. In this regard, an exchange of views took place on proposals to reduce the voting program, organizing the polling stations abroad, the work of the institute of observers and the process of presidential candidates’ registration.
