Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that he had discussed with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin the possibility of resuming negotiations on signing a loan agreement with the Russian Federation in the amount of 200 million euros. According to him, the Russian side is ready to resume negotiations, and the Republic of Moldova should agree on some internal procedures, tv8.md reports. “The Russian side is willing to resume negotiations in order to exclude from the agreement the elements mentioned in the decision of the Constitutional Court. There are some internal procedures in the Republic of Moldova. To resume negotiations, the opinion of the parliamentary committee is required. I hope that this opinion will be formulated this week, after which we can officially begin negotiations. The Russian side is ready to resume discussions, the ball is in our court,” Chicu said. Earlier, the Constitutional Court ruled that a loan agreement signed by the Republic of Moldova with the Russian Federation on April 17 in the amount of 200 million euros is unconstitutional.
