The Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) will sign a vote of no confidence in the government of Ion Chicu. This statement was made by PAS leader Maia Sandu at a briefing on July 16. Sandu added that on July 15 she was discussing the resignation of the Chicu government with Democratic Party leader Pavel Filip. According to her, the Democratic Party refused to support the resignation of the government. “We understand that the PSRM wants to end this parliamentary session ahead of schedule, and Dodon wants to close the parliament again. The PAS faction will sign a vote of no confidence in the government today proposed by the DA faction in the hope that the Democratic Party will reconsider its position and support the resignation of the government,” the PAS leader said. Recall, 11 deputies from the Platform of Dignity and Truth Party (DA) on July 14 signed the text of a vote of no confidence in the government of Ion Chicu. They called on other deputies to join them and put their signatures on the document before Thursday, July 16.
