Presidential candidate Maia Sandu claimed that civil servants from various institutions are being blackmailed and threatened with dismissal if they do not provide evidence that they voted for the independent candidate Igor Dodon.

“There is enormous pressure on officials, mayors are being blackmailed. There are attempts at falsification, there is a campaign of denigration and a lot of lies. This is how Igor Dodon is trying to win these elections,” Maia Sandu said on the Cutia Neagra show.
Maia Sandu argued that people are threatened primarily by the fact that they will lose their jobs. Mayors are being blackmailed with no more funding to receive.
“The National Integrity Authority, the NCBK, is being used against them, just as during Plahotniuc days, but most importantly they are intimidated not receive any funding,” Sandu said.
