The candidate nominated by the head of state for the post of Prime Minister Igor Grosu presented three priorities of his governance program.
The official also said that he has already started recruiting people to his team.
Grosu said his governance program will be based on three main objectives:
1) an effective fight against the pandemic and economic crisis, the vaccination campaign, the return to normal life for all citizens;
2) immediate purge of schemes and corrupt persons in state institutions, agencies and enterprises;
3) holding early elections.
“My desire is still the need to cleanse the political class and create a responsible and legitimate parliament that will develop the country in the interests of citizens. Subsequently, I will hold discussions with parliamentary factions, as well as in the National Political Council of the Action and Solidarity Party, to find out how this desired result can be achieved,” Igor Grosu wrote on his Facebook page.
Recall that President Maia Sandu nominated Igor Grosu to the post of Prime Minister after consultations with parliamentary factions, which took place on Tuesday, March 16. Also on Tuesday, Mariana Durlesteanu, who was nominated by the socialists for the post of prime minister, announced that she was withdrawing her candidacy.
The socialists challenged the legality of Grosu's nomination in the Constitutional Court and announced that today, March 18, the parliamentary majority will nominate its candidate.
