The executive power of Moldova will allocate just over one hundred million lei from the Reserve Fund for the July 11 early parliamentary elections. The money will be provided in several tranches, in accordance with the CEC needs.
This was stated by acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi during the
Moldova in direct program,
trm.md reports.
The Prime Minister recalled that there are 98 million lei in the Reserve Fund. The Ministry of Finance has raised more funds, but meeting the cost estimate demanded by the CEC in the amount of 125 million lei is not yet possible.
“We will follow the path of real spending and subsequent tranches will be allocated as and when required. There are some restrictions, but at the same time, we must ensure the proper holding of early parliamentary elections,” Aureliu Ciocoi noted.
A significant part of this money will cover the salaries of CEC members, electoral bureaus and polling station employees.
Recall, earlier Aureliu Ciocoi said that the government would be able to allocate a little more than 80 million lei for early parliamentary elections. And this is because "a responsible government cannot completely zero out the Reserve Fund."
Early parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova are scheduled for July 11, 2021.
