President Maia Sandu announced that she would sue the socialist deputies Adrian Lebedinschi and Grigore Novac for their claims that the presidency was involved in the kidnapping of former Ukrainian judge Mykola Chaus. In a Prime TV show, the President said that the statements of the two MPs were false and were made in the context of the election campaign, cotidianul.md reports. “I have heard this lie several times already, and the socialists continue to insist on it. I will go to court, because I did not take part in this and did not know anything. I am very sorry that the state institutions were unable to obtain timely information and prevent the abduction,” Maia Sandu said. Maia Sandu also explained that she was aware of Chaus's presence in the country, but denied that she had discussed this topic with her Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. “I first heard that a Ukrainian judge is in Moldova in 2019, when I was prime minister. At that time,  President Zelensky told me about it. I said I would look into the matter. After that, I had no conversations with Mr. Zelensky,” the head of state said. Recall that at yesterday's press conference, the PSRM deputies said that a special parliamentary commission, which was investigating the circumstances of the abduction in Chisinau of the former Ukrainian judge Nikolai Chaus, established that some state departments of Moldova were involved  in the incident.
