A similar situation is observed in the Gagauz autonomy: 32,507 people versus 33,100 people. Chisinau had 157,872 pensioners at the beginning of this year, which is about a thousand less people compared to the situation in 2020, when there were 159,016 pensioners. The NBS notes that the data does not include information on pension recipients on the left bank of the Dniester and in the municipality of Tighina.
