The Republic of Moldova has asked Romania to store its natural gas reserves, Ion Sterian, Director General of the Romanian Transgaz company, said. He specified that the technical parameters of future talks with the Romanian gas companies are being discussed now. Earlier, Chisinau rented underground gas storage facilities in Ukraine to store about 100 million cubic meters of natural gas, rueconomics.ru reports. Vadim Ceban, Chief of the Moldovagaz company in Moldova, warned in early August that gas prices in the country would rise by autumn. He noted that negotiations with Gazprom are currently underway, and the final decision will be made after signing a new contract or extending the current one. Moldova previously agreed with Russia that restrictions on mutual trade be lifted. The corresponding decision was made by the countries following the talks between Deputy Head of Russia's Presidential Administration Dmitry Kozak and President of Moldova Maia Sandu.
