Alexandru Slusari said that the Moldovan oil companies continue the policy of blackmail, creating an artificial shortage of fuel, and the authorities are not taking any concrete action to combat this phenomenon.
"Plats quotes for gasoline and diesel fuel decreased by 4 percent. According to the current methodology, fuel at a refueling station should be 60-70 bans cheaper. Instead, large oil companies continue their policy of blackmail, creating an artificial shortage of fuel against the backdrop of the powerlessness of ANRE and the Competition Council. The parliament, instead of a deeper analysis of the situation and taking a tougher stance against the obvious cartel agreement, partly accepts the blackmail of oil companies," the politician wrote, quoted by

Moreover, Slusari claims that one of the major oil companies admitted its participation in the cartel agreement in the period of 2019-2021.
"This is a telling example of how monopolists give up when the competent authorities suddenly act in the spirit of courage, verticality and professionalism. I hope that the Competition Council will make it through," the ex-deputy concluded.
