Ex- Premier Ion Chicu believes that the laws adopted by the pro-presidential PAS MPs "have nothing to do with the rule of law, democracy, European values and the fight against corruption." As Ion Chicu also argues, this means that the PAS is actually "taking control over justice". "Under the guise of a 'popular vote', this political party decided to violate the separation of powers principle and seize institutions that, according to the Constitution, cannot be subordinated to politics. Yes, they hide behind a "fight against corruption", but judging by the characters they have appointed to key positions and their role in the theft of the "billion", I am convinced that they want to take control of the prosecutor's office in order to get rid of responsibility for their own past and future corruption," Ion Chicu wrote. The former prime minister asks the ambassadors of the member states of the European Union to take action. "We no longer want the geopolitical struggle with Russia to be conducted at the expense of the statehood, welfare and freedom of Moldovans! We do not want the so-called pro-European party, hiding behind attractive slogans and false loyalty to the West, to resume the pillage of the state, as the authorities did in 2013-2014," Chicu also mentioned.
