Pensions and benefits will increase in Moldova from October 1. Experts applauded this decision of the government.
“This increase against the background of rising prices will do little, but as promised, this have to be done. Pensions had to be increased in inverse proportion to their size, that is, to maximize the minimum pensions and generally not to increase pensions over 25,000 lei, although this is difficult legally.
On the other hand, I also analyzed the number of pensions that are large, such pensions are only 0.65% of the total amount of pensions paid (pensions over 30,000 lei - 0.13% of the total), i.e. increasing them or not will not be noticeable at all for the general level of pensions,” said Veaceslav Cunev, Chairman of the IT Companies Association Board, enews.md reports.
“The announced increase in pensions up to 2000 lei (only for those who have full work experience) have already been undone by the increase in prices for all goods, including basic necessities.
That is, an increase is only ahead, but the prices have already swallowed it! In other words, this increase in pensions for 134 thousand pensioners with full work experience won't help achieve the subsistence minimum. Not to mention those who will not have even these 2,000 lei,” said Ivan Grec, historian and political scientist.
