The country’s authorities attribute the jump in morbidity to the slow pace of vaccination
Coronavirus morbidity and mortality rates in Ukraine have reached record levels against the background of slow vaccination rates: the country ranks among the last in Europe in terms of the total number of vaccinations.
The Ukrainian authorities reported that 22,415 new confirmed cases of infection and 546 deaths were registered in the country over the past day, which is the highest figure since the beginning of the pandemic.
The authorities attribute the jump in morbidity to the slow pace of vaccination.
In a country with a population of 41 million people, Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines are available, but only about 15 percent of residents have been fully vaccinated at the moment, which is the lowest rate in Europe after Armenia.
In total, more than 2.7 million cases of infection and 62,389 deaths have been registered in the country.
