Price Growth Continues: Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Cost Beats the Record

On Monday, January 31, The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) published a new maximum cost of gasoline and diesel fuel starting tomorrow. According to ANRE, the maximum cost of 95 gasoline will be 23 lei 09 bans per liter, and diesel fuel - 20 lei 04 bans. ANRE data show that gasoline price has risen by about 2.3 lei (about 11%) over the month, of which 50 bans are due to an increase in excise taxes, and the rest is a consequence of oil prices on international stock markets. Concerning diesel fuel, the price increase was more significant: by about 2.5 lei, or more than 14%, of which only 30 bans are associated with an increase in excise duty.
