The Public Property Agency may in the coming days sign an agreement with a company that will audit the debt of Moldovagaz S.A. to Russia’s Gazprom for the gas supplied to consumers on the right bank of Dniester river.
This was announced by Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu in the air of the program Vocea Basarabiei, reports realitatea.md
“We have already announced that the PPA is on the last hundred meters and maybe in the coming days we will have good news and we will conclude a contract to conduct this audit. I expect that the selected companies will get all the documents forming the basis of the alleged debt and analyze how this debt was appeared, whether there really is this debt. I think this issue is of great interest to the entire community. I personally can’t assume, sign or accept what I don’t know, as where the $800 million debt came from,” Spinu said.
At the same time, Spinu said that even if we currently have a contract of natural gas supply for five years between Moldovagaz SA and Gazprom State Enterprise, the risk of unilateral termination of the contract remains due to a failure to audit the financial debt, resulting in the restriction or stoppage of natural gas supplies.
