Casu: The State Sells Firewood 5 Times More Expensive than the Production Cost

The prime cost of 0.7 m3 of firewood is 170 lei, while the state has set the price at 800 lei per meter, without taking into account transport costs. This was reported in social networks by an employee of the Orhei National Ilian Casu, reports omg.md. According to his data, the costs of the forestry enterprises of the State Enterprise Moldsilva are about 170 lei. “If we calculate this sum from the selling price, we come to the net profit of the state forestry in the amount of 630 lei. Just on one warehouse meter,” writes Casu. He noted that with the planned harvest of 0.7 million m3 storages of firewood in the winter period would be 630 million lei. “And this is in conditions when firewood, unlike Russian gas and electricity from the Moldovan TPP, is the people’s property,” Casu added. It was previously reported that the government set the price of firewood between 550 and 875 lei per 0.7 m3 for hardwoods. Point
