The volume of natural gas consumption this September amounted to 27.4 million cubic meters, which is 37.8% lower than in the same period of 2021. At the same time, this figure increased by 1.4 million cubic meters compared to August 2022. This was reported by Moldovagaz chief Vadim Ceban on social media. In previous reports Gazprom said that in October it could supply Moldova with only 5.7 million cubic meters per day, as Naftogaz of Ukraine refused to provide transit in full. Gazprom also warned that it has the right to terminate the contract for gas supplies to Moldova at any time due to gross violations of the terms of the agreement to settle Moldovagaz’s historic debt.
