China Conducts Drills Around Taiwan: Practicing Land and Sea Strikes

The Chinese military conducted regular military trainings around Taiwan which practiced strikes from land and sea, Reuters reports. According to a statement by the eastern command of the People’s Liberation Army of China, the army held joint combat readiness patrols and true combat exercises in the sea and airspace around Taiwan, rbc.ua reports. “The goal of the exercise was to test joint combat capabilities and resolutely confront provocative actions by external forces and Taiwanese separatist forces,” the statement said. Over the past two weeks, Japan has repeatedly lifted fighter jets and sent warships to monitor the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning.
