Representatives of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists and their supporters hold a rally outside the Constitutional Court in “defense of the Moldovan language”. Protesters chanting “Respect the Constitution!”, “Moldova”, “Moldovan”, “We are Moldovans”, reports unimedia.info. Recall that the bill to replace the “Moldovan language” syntagma with “Romanian language” in all Moldovan legislation, including the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, was passed in the first reading. The document was supported by 56 deputies. After approval in the final reading, the law will enter into force after publication in the Official Monitor. Subsequently, all existing normative acts containing the phrases “Moldovan language”, “state language”, “official language” and “native language” will be changed by including the “Romanian language” syntagma.
