The Republic of Moldova will be able to export and import more electricity from and to the European Union in May. This will be possible due to a 200 MW increase in electricity trading capacity from continental Europe to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova by ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators, noi.md reports with reference to tv8.md Moldova and Ukraine synchronized their power systems with the continental ENTSO-E in February 2022, and since then the capacity available for trading between the two systems has increased significantly, Energy Minister Victor Parlicov said. Thus, the maximum export capacity in the EU has been increased to 850 MW, while the anytime maximum import capacity has increased to 400 MW.
