The Government today approved a draft law on the ratification of the resolution by the Moldova-EU Customs Subcommittee adopted in Brussels on October 3, 2022, on the mutual recognition of programs related to Authorized Economic Operators (AEO). The resolution is aimed at the implementation of the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, especially in terms of the customs regime and trade facilitation, thereby strengthening cooperation between the customs structures of the two parties. Mutual recognition of trade partnership programs will help improve security and facilitate the supply chain of goods between our country and the EU. Thus, economic agents that receive the AEO status will enjoy a number of advantages, such as reduced control, priority at customs and transport control. The ratification will make the customs interaction and coordination between the Republic of Moldova and the EU more effective in the framework of joint efforts to ensure border security and facilitate trade exchanges.
