Home / Security / Volodymyr Zelensky: We Need to Wait with the Offensive
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his country needs more time to launch a long-awaited counteroffensive against Russia as the military is looking forward to get promised Western aid. The expected offensive could be decisive in a war that has remained unchanged for several months. It could also be the ultimate test for Ukraine, which is keen to prove that Western aid received can lead to big battlefield victories. “[what we have now] we can go ahead and succeed. But we would lose a lot of people. I think this is unacceptable,” Volodymyr Zelensky said, speaking at his Kyiv headquarters with correspondents from several European public media, including the BBC. “So we need to wait. We still need a little more time,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
